Missions (game settings)

In the Missions section, you can add tasks for players and configure which notifications will appear for their friends. A mission is a sequence of actions in a game that leads to a certain result. When a player completes a mission, VK sends messages about it to the friends' activity feed.

Mission settings are available only for VK games.

To open the section:

    Go to the apps list.

    Open the settings of the game you need.
  3. 3.
    Select Social mechanics → Missions from the left-side menu.

Access

    The section is displayed only for games that have passed moderation and are published in the catalog.

    This section is available to:

      Game creator.
    • •
      Administrator with full access.
    • •
      Administrator with partial access and the Editing permission.

Mission settings

To add a mission to the game, click Create and specify the mission parameters:

    Start the mission name with an infinitive verb, for example, “set”, “build”, “complete”, “explore”, “find”.

    Set the number of points for the mission — from 1 to 100 inclusive.

  • •

    In the mission completion text, use perfective verbs in the past tense, for example, “built” / “found”.

    The mission completion text depends on the gender of the player who completed the mission. Specify the text for each gender.

    The following variables can be used in the text. The platform will automatically replace them with the corresponding values when sending notifications.

    The first name of the player who completed the mission. Only the first name is used, without the last name — as specified in the user's VK profile.
    {name}
    The game name as specified in the game settings, in the Information section.

Limitations

    Each game can have up to 200 missions.
  • •
    The maximum total number of points for all created and not yet created missions is 2,000.

Mission review

Before publication, all missions go through moderation. Submit the created mission for review. When moderators review the texts, the results will be visible in the mission list.

Important! Check the mission name, texts, and other parameters before submitting it for moderation. After moderation, it will be impossible to change the parameters.

The mission is ready to use immediately after passing moderation.

Mission ID

After you create a mission, the platform automatically assigns it an ID — an integer displayed in the mission block.

You will use this ID when sending VK API requests to inform the platform that the user has completed the mission. For details, see Missions.

The ID can't be changed.
